Im not gonna agree with you on the cost side of things...I like the image and sound quality on dvd and blu ray better I can see the compression artifacts on netflix so Im not impressed, and you have to upgrade to a fast internet connection. I've had to deal with commercials on youtube and you get tons of free documentaries on documentaryheaven.com and a couple of other sites.

besides, when the "future" boy above calls my arguments stupid, he gives me license to dimiss his arguments.
Nobody's saying I should preffer streaming?, then why are they trying to shame me by mentioning old technology that is longer en vogue? I can still se vinyl around and stereophiles seem to preffer that medium. Tube amplifiers sound better, ask any guitar player, and high end vacuum tube amplifiers do sound way better than transistor amps. You still see those being sold in some places. Other commenters seem to think that I'm gonna be impreseed that they can stare at a movie in their tiny little screens. Guess what, Im not impressed at all, movies like Avatar an LOTR and many others are meant to be seen on a large format.
So I found a medium I like. There are movies that are not available for streaming, and nobody offers bonus DVDs on streaming sights,as far as I know, so I'd choose DVDs for those.

For series, and children's shows, I'd have to spend a couple of thousand dollars to have those libraries, so for the cost of roughly 3 seasons of DVDs for one show per year, I get hundreds, and let's face it, no matter how much free time I have I couldn't watch them all.

On a side note I'm glad that studios are adding the digital versions so i can play them on mobile devices.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22906998.post-91369506602818264492011-11-30T16:25:41.919-08:002011-11-30T16:25:41.919-08:00hey future kid....I don't care.

Its a matter of CHOICE! Is not a matter of knowing how to use new technology or about cost either. You may disagree with my points on cost. I think of it this way...you pay a year subscription for netflix, and at the end of the year you have NOTHING to show for. I at least have a disc I can watch over and over again. But put the cost argument aside. I simply preffer physical media over streaming. Why is this threatening to some people? Internet access and Netflix streaming comes out to about $20.00 a month my DVD player gets streaming, and since you need a DVD player for DVDs we each have to buy a device so for $240.00 a year my family and I get 365 days of TV shows and movies.
