What ...I have a question, which might be off topic. What constitutes an adult animated feature? Would it be solely based on the rating (an R rating vs PG) or would it be based on content (violence, language or sexual content). Should "Princess Mononoke" be considered an adult film, for example?Diablohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17799886319780675886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22906998.post-36890468483431225592012-10-17T21:43:31.715-07:002012-10-17T21:43:31.715-07:00Saw guardians last week at a film festival. There was tepid applause when it ended (although to be fair, the audience was mostly adults and teens--it may play better to the small children it was made for). I'd had hopes after Dean Dublois' nice HTTYD, but it was about on par with Over the Hedge in terms of entertainment and drama.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07768086712318349494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22906998.post-14667173416539492892012-10-17T14:02:11.571-07:002012-10-17T14:02:11.571-07:00My wife is not a gamer and she LOVED Wreck-It Ralp...My wife is not a gamer and she LOVED Wreck-It Ralph. It really does stick to universal themes and limits the video game references to cameos and subtle inside jokes.Justinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033520437729077065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22906998.post-24869617339968468862012-10-17T11:36:30.708-07:002012-10-17T11:36:30.708-07:00The only positive reports anywhere on the internet...The only positive reports anywhere on the internet about Rise of the Guardians is from The Hollywood Reporter. Heck, they even gave it an award before the film was even finished.

Methinks Jeff K has a hand in this. Ralph may appeal to a limited audience unless Disney is smart to concentrate on the universal themes and characters, and limit cameos from Pac Man, Sonic, and all the other non-Disney properties.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07881604214398504968noreply@blogger.com
