Went to see it because of word of mouth, like the first commenter said. It's funny and had some great action sequences. You get used to the designs. I'll probably get it on bluray when it comes out!

r.rufusnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22906998.post-22472093042667079662011-03-28T15:47:07.081-07:002011-03-28T15:47:07.081-07:00I don't know, Rango's haul seems pretty im...I don't know, Rango's haul seems pretty impressive considering how bizarre and weird it is. It's the strangest wide-release animated film in ages, and it seems like it's done alright. Certainly better than Fantastic Mr. Fox!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22906998.post-31502945218663832042011-03-28T14:08:38.931-07:002011-03-28T14:08:38.931-07:00I don't understand the Rango bashing. It was publicized poorly, in my opinion, so it started slowly. Its continued success could only mean one thing; word of mouth, so a lot of people disagree with you.stevenemnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22906998.post-87606231640298299522011-03-28T12:58:29.187-07:002011-03-28T12:58:29.187-07:00Not to be trollish, but combine a $135 million pro...Not to be trollish, but combine a $135 million production budget with a $50+ million dollar marketing campaign, and you have a $180+ million film. Then there are distribution costs.

Unspoken in the film's potential profitability for either ILM or Paramount is how much of the gross money goes to Johnny and Gore? If they're getting as big a cut as I imagine they are, then Rango has a ways to go to turn a genuine profit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22906998.post-41232498235358723152011-03-26T21:25:04.927-07:002011-03-26T21:25:04.927-07:00rango's made almost $100 million in 5 weeks. ...rango's made almost $100 million in 5 weeks.
