Executive Order 9066 led to signs like this. Let's not let this happen again. |
Recent events have heightened anxieties for many. I write to remind you that we are here for the entire animation community. Here's what we provide:
For members, we fully support you. Your dues fund our ability to defend and protect the contracts you work under. You make our organizing efforts possible. You pay the salaries of the people answering your questions via phone and email. We work for you. If you have any questions about the impact that future legislation may have on your ability to work or travel, please contact us. We may not have all the answers at this time, but we will share what we know, offer the advice that we can and together we will work to make things better. Members, if you have not yet joined our Facebook closed group, please look for instructions in the January Peg-Board and join now. There are nearly 4,000 of us; let's share our knowledge.
For non-members, we are a resource for you. If you work in animation, and would like learn more about how to gain benefits and working conditions like the ones outlined in our contracts, please contact us. If you're ready to take the next step towards helping organize your workplace, please fill out this on-line representation card. Let's talk. We are an open book, please read our constitution, our contracts and our wage survey to understand how we operate and the working conditions and benefits we negotiate for our members. Know a member? Ask them to explain it to you.
For all, we offer education and training via the American Animation Institute. If you are an educator or community leader, and you would like to have an animation professional speak to a class, give a presentation or be on a panel, please contact us. We are a part of the community and know that we have a responsibility to give back.
We're stronger when we work together. Artists, we support you.
