I did not realise SPA was so tiny compared to Disney and DreamWorks. For some reason, I thought more people were working there.
Only certain areas like story are actually SPA employees. Animation production happens at Imageworks, which is not covered by the union agreement.
There was an IA election at SPI several years ago. The International didn't prevail.
More recently, employees staged an organizing drive at SPI for a union contract.
We continue our efforts to extend pension and health benefits to Imageworks artitsts.
