Irv Spence Contrasts Himself With MGM Assistants

And comes out sparkling and dapper. This drawing (#2 in a series) shows our hero Irv with Stod Herbert -- an assistant animator at MGM. In this one, (unlike the previous Spence drawing) Irv places himself front and center. Behind Stod stands Joe Vought -- also an assistant at MGM...and later an assistant for Fred Moore at Walter Lantz in the late forties. Obviously Irv was in the mood to lampoon Stod's and Irv's poundage. (see below.) (from the collection of director James Walker.)
