YouTube Animation Factoid

This intrigues me because it's a gauge of interest in the format.

Well, it was referencing Miyazaki, you have to expect that.

Because anime fans love it when a popular show references their "genre".
It makes them feel that they've gone mainstream.

That is true. I sometimes like to think that way whenever someone references my hometown in a show, movie or cartoon!
