Comedy Central has given a 10-episode series order to Legends Of Chamberlain Heights, an animated comedy from veteran Simpsons artist Brad Ableson, retired UCLA Bruin basketball players, sports producers Quinn Hawking (ESPN) and Josiah Johnson (NFL Network), writer Michael Starrbury (The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete) and Bento Box Entertainment.
Legends Of Chamberlain Heights, originally ordered to pilot 15 months ago, is described as an urban animated series mixing raucous comedy and social commentary. ...
Bento Box has two studios in Burbank and North Hollywood (both on Magnolia Boulevard), and one in Atlanta. In recent years, they've been 20th Century Fox's go-to primetime studio with Bob'S Burgers, Murder Police*, and the forthcoming Border Town.
It's not a walk in the park being an independent studio; current realities dictate that you're shackled to one or more fine, entertainment conglomerates and you will not own your shows. But BB has made a solid go in the current animation marketplace.
