Know Your Conglomerates

Important factoids for the wage slaves who labor in our corporate vineyards.

... The third largest media company in the United States is 21st Century Fox. It has a market capitalization of ~$70.36 billion as of May 22, 2015. The Walt Disney Company and Comcast are the two largest media companies in the United States.

Walt Disney had a market capitalization of ~$187.08 billion on May 22. Comcast had a market capitalization of ~$145.37 billion on the same date. Time Warner is the fourth largest US media company and closely follows 21st Century Fox. Time Warner had a market capitalization of ~$70.26 billion on May 22. ...

In the 21st century, nobody works for a small, Bill-and-Joe style cartoon company, that is the master of its own fate.

Hanna-Barbera is kaput. DePatie-Freleng is but a memory. Directly or indirectly, everybody works for one of the Big Five conglomerates, which own everything, top to bottom. When you work at a small studio, you work at a job shop suckling at the teat of a monster sow named Disney ... Time-Warner ... or 21st Century Fox.
