"You're Not Supposed to Share Wage Information"
We have multiple sources telling us that studio management at one of our larger, finer companies is leaning on them not to reveal wage information....
We totally understand why management doesn't want the people creating its product to know what the person down the hall is earning. In wage negotiations, execs consider too much knowledge to be a bad thing.
Trouble is, it's against the California State Labor Code to "discipline or discharge" any employee for sharing wage information. I've complained to the studio's H.R. department. I'll let you know what their response is.
