The DreamWorks

The bulk of my afternoon was spent on another floor of the Lakeside building. Lots of people are devoting their full attention to Megamind ...

Have we started working more hours on the picture? Oh yeah. I'm coming in Saturdays. The workload's increased ....

Most DWA artists think MM is in good shape (not the universal opinion I heard, oh, a year ago.) Whether it's gonna end up DreamWorks Animation's third hit of the year? Look at the newer Comic-Con trailer and judge for yourself.

Looks awful. I had some hope after the first trailer, but I can tell this trailer pretty much sums up the entire movie... and it's bad.

I feel like I've seen this movie before. Several times...

I should preface this by saying that I'm a DWA fan. Their movies lately have been great. But, Megamind just doesn't look appealing to me. I don't know what it is. But, I have zero interest in it. I hope it does well. But man, I'm not the least bit excited about it. :(

By the way, my word verification is "sucrama". Funny how it fits my feels about this film.

I guess it was inevitable.......even from Dreamworks.
I see regurgitations of the Susan model from Monsters vs. Aliens.......
I see shades of Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs thrown in there.......
and I see (of course) that they're TRYING to cash in on the success of the Incredibles too.

Re-use,re-use...RE-USE!!!

Katzenberg's ALREADY losing it.....you know why?
Because NOW he's making these movies ONLY to make cash......it's REAL obvious.
If there is ANY creativity going on, it's from the CREW....NOT the SUITS!!!
And yet the suits get the BIG bucks.

You see nothing when you have your head up your a$$...

You think Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Monsters Inc. 2 and Finding Nemo 2 (maybe?) demonstrates creativity or aren't cash grabs?

Megamind is great, Will Ferrel at his best. Unlike the rest of you slobbering douches imparting your "wisdom" I have actually seen the film.

The more I see of this movie, the less and less I like it. I thought it wouldn't be possible after the first trailer.....but somehow....just somehow....Dreamworks has pushed the boundaries again, and made me dislike something even more. Yay!

Thanks for giving away all the major plot points too... Metroman dies... Fat redhead kid becomes hero, and saves the day.

Nice marketing. Now nobody has to waste $14 dollars on a 3D ticket when we already know how the movie ends....

Actually you are wrong. Did you even watch the trailer or are just thick?

They're just thick.

**Megamind is great, Will Ferrel at his best.**

Oh, well, THAT'S reassuring.

The color palette in this film is horrible. Eye-searingly, stomach-turningly awful. And that's the least of its problems.

Yeah I mean who is Will Ferrel except one of the worlds most successful comedic actors.. We should instead look to this genius anon 3:34:00 PM for guidance on the film making process with his incredible insights into color pallet.

seriously, please save us all the hassle of having to scroll past your drivel and go crawl back to your mothers basement.

Thanks!

so here's what i got from that "extended trailer"

MetroMan, (Voiced by Brad Bit), is the cities greatest hero, loved and adored by all.

MegaMind, (voiced by Will Ferrell), is the cities greatest villain, yet as great as he is, the one feat he cannot achieve is defeating his arch-nemesis MetroMan.

Roxanne Ritchi, (Voiced by Tina Fay), is the cities most adored and respected TV personality who also happens to be involved with MetroMan. Part of the reason she is so adored is her exclusive access to MetroMan and the ability to bring him to the public.

Titan, (Voiced by Jonah Hill), is the underachieving goofball assistant to Roxanne Ritchi, who just wants to be respected amongst his friends and coworkers.

After being kept at bay by the heroic MetroMan, MegaMind with the help of his evil henchman comes up with a plan to bring down his arch-nemesis for good.

After luring Roxanne away and placing her in a dangerous situation, he tricks MetroMan into falling in their trap and using the power of the sun, kills MetroMan for good.

With the cities greatest hero defeated and now holding control and power over the city, MegaMind goes on a spree of terror, scaring little kids and their parents, destroying buildings, taking over the world etc etc..

As time goes by MegaMind begins to get bored with his control of the city. The repetition of terrorizing people and destroying things weights down on his soul and he doesn't know what to do with himself.

So with the help of his Evil Sidekick, he decides to create scenarios for himself to have fun again.

By taking the least likely people to be a hero and tricking them by dressing up in drag and other humorous garb that they are "chosen" or have a "destiny" to save the world, he gives them false hope that they can save the city from MegaMind and he can defeat them.

As this plan begins to work he makes his way to Titan, our loser to be hero in the film. Tricking him into thinking he is a "chosen hero", Titan comes of left field tapping into his true powers that lay dormant within him.

MegaMind makes his way to fight Titan but is surprised to find that Titan is in fact a true Superhero and has more power then MegaMind. However with all other Heros failing to defeat MegaMind, the people of the city find little hope in Titan.

However it takes Roxanne, Titans friend to convince the people of the city that Titan can defeat MegaMind and all they have to do is believe.

MegaMind and Titan begin to fight. Titan has the upperhand, Titan wins, letting MegaMind live.

The lesson at the end of this story is don't take things for granted. You can't always have your cake and eat it too. You have to give a little to get a little, or there is no glory in World Domination when nobody loves you.

I got all that from a 7 minute trailer.

Go ahead and flame me.

Thats actually pretty hilarious you did that

I think some of DreamWorks competitors (employees, affiliates, investors, whatever) have way to much time on their hands.

Gee.

I've been warming up to the movie. And I have no idea why the video was removed.

Heey.

The trailer is BACK. Musta been removed by somebody who didn't like the comments, huh?

Anonymous said...

Yep, a famous actor doing a voice is the ONLY reason I decide to see an animated movie. Yessir. Story, design, characters...who needs 'em? Just give me Will Ferrell doing his usual moron schtick, and I'm happy.

Baaaaaaa.

Gee, the trailer's back? Too bad; my eyes were enjoying the rest.

Animajor: wrong again douche bag. Nice try though...

^ what exactly is wrong about it? everything Animajor wrote was something I saw in the trailer too.

Or is this the same person who's telling people their heads are up their butts and how crap their thoughts and opinions are.

Going around saying crap to people while staying anonymous is pretty wimpy. How funny is it that it's always the Anonymous people who have the biggest mouths. I'd like to see you say this stuff to someone in person. Or perhaps maybe just post your name to get a little more respect.

BTW Animajor never said anything BAD about the movie or trailer. They just described what they saw. Which again, is exactly what I saw.

This Blog really does need some moderation on the comments.

"Animajor": WRONG.
That's not the plot of the movie at all. But since you never intended to see it and are only interested in slamming it it's all moot anyway.
