Last week the black paper came down with the scaffolding, and bypassers on Hollywood Way between Chandler and Magnolia finally got a good view of the architecture of our new building. Above is the main entrance facing the street (All snapshots by Steve Hulett).
The outside of the building will soon be painted an off-white, with the accents, currently showing in dark grey, painted red. (We are unable to confirm rumors that a USC alumnus was involved in this color scheme.)
Here's the lobby, with the main entrance at left; at right is the reception desk, and straight ahead is the art gallery. The south entrance, facing the south parking lot. Inside the offices. The entrance to my office is on the left; Marta Strohl-Rowand's cubicle is on the right, and straight ahead is Lyn Mantta's office. Note that while Steve, Lyn, Marta and even our receptionist Trell will have views of Hollywood Way, I will have a view of ... Marta's cubicle. On the other hand I'll be able to close my door and take naps without that nasty sunlight intruding, so it kinda evens out ;) The second-floor auditorium, future home of membership meetings and other events. At right is the doorway leading to the lobby stairs. Facing south. On right are doors to the board room and the kitchen. Down the hall are doors to the classrooms and computer lab. Above is a photo of the front of the building from early last fall, as renovations were just starting; below it is a photo from this morning. We're hearing rumors of a possible move in early summer. (Could it be?) Stay tuned.
