Now it's all about owls.
The big-budget fantasy film [The Guardians of Ga'hoole], is in production in Sydney and directed by Zack Snyder .... The film follows Soren, a young owl enthralled by his father's epic stories of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors
Stands to reason that Animal Logic is staying with the bird thing. Their penguin epic made big bucks.

While I'm sick to death of penguins, I decry this attempt to give owls the same treatment. Owls are too cool for animation.

I was never a Bluth fan, but when I think of great character animation, John Pomeroy's Owl from Secret of NIMH is pretty high on the list.
It'd be nice if Zack Snyder knew how to tell a story.
And was that an owl in Nimh? Hard to tell...
