Robert F. Boyle, RIP

Mr. Boyle worked in live-action production design for almost sixty years.

Robert F. Boyle, a four-time Oscar-nominated production designer best known for his work on Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" and "The Birds" and Norman Jewison's "Fiddler on the Roof," has died. He was 100.

He started in the business in his early twenties at Paramount, and went on until close to eighty. A long and storied artistic career.
