I'd say that Hangover nicked the Panda bear a bit, but them's the breaks.
(The original KFP collected $60 million on its June 6, 2008 opening weekend. My guess is the total domestic gross will be close to the original's $215 million accumulation -- a multiple of 4 -- with a bigger foreign take. I'm guesstimating $600-$700+ million when all theatrical receipts are in.)

The fact that she is female has nothing to do with the films numbers. She is a good storyteller plain and simple.

Boy, Hangover 2 is really shattering the poor Panda.
And people though this was going to be Shrek 2...
And it's not like everyone knows jeffery directs most of the dw cartoons. He' may not be a man, but he sure ain't a woman.
Wouldn't have believed it but KFP2 is better than panda 1. Congrats to those whon worked on it.
I would have thought the Panda would have opened much and much higher... especially since the first Panda was so well received, I didn't like it though.
First summer I'm looking forward more to a Dreamworks than a Pixar feature.
Kung Fu Panda 2 was excellent. I will see it again and was not disappointed. And I don't work for DreamWorks but I did choose to see it in 2D simply for cost.
