Blackwing Diaries Jenny Lerew writes of Brave and Brenda Chapman.
And Pixar Portal interviews Brenda about her animation career. (Something that TAG blog would like to do ... and hasn't.)
Five years ago, both Brenda and Jenny participated in a TAG panel discussion about women artists and directors in the cartoon industry. You can find a lengthy post about that panel here. Sadly, the audio link to that event has gone missing.

So what REALLY happened?
Why was Chapman removed from this film?
I also want to know. Why was Chapman outed? I just want to know. I've never tried to make an argument one way or another, but it drives me crazy not knowing.
"Creative differences".
The team didn't trust her. She wasn't taking/ using any notes. That's what I heard (so, not first hand info)
I wonder what notes Andrew Stanton and Lasseter got/used on Wall-E and Cars2?
For the curious fans out there who imagine some "smoking gun" scenario-there probably isn't one.
Heard the same thing about Sanders.
But wait, I thought Pixar has no "politics"?
"no politics"
Yeah according to Andrew Stanton who basically rules the studio alongside John like an Emperor and is also a very key player in the changes of directors.
There's always politics...
Chapman probably complained about the size of the cereal bowls and... BOOM that was it..
sanders quit Disney. He took his ball and went home. Thank goodness, because American dog was awful and unwatchable.
Thank goodness, because Sanders' "How to Train Your Dragon" was better than anything Disney Feature has put out in 17 years.
Don't forget Dean.
Dean being the primary engine. sanders alone is the croods, which is also, like american dog, a complete mess.
Yeah and BOLT was fucking awesome...
