It shouldn't have gotten a nomination in the first place.
I'm a massives Pixar-fan and LOVED the original Cars, but I found the seguel utterly forgettable and hope they won't win, to kick their ass for delivering 'mediocrity'
It ain't about shiny plaques and gold statues, it's about revenues. The film (like it or not) delivered the goods.
This is a business after all.
I found out that Cars 2 got nominated. AAAAAHHHHH!!! And they didnt nominate Kung Fu Panda 2!!!!!?????!!!! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!
They could win a Globe. Since you can bribe your way into a win with them.
When will everyone realize the GG's are not real awards?
Floyd, didnt you JUST say on another post here that the most important thing is story, and it sucks that movies are driven by marketing?
Yeah, you did:
"A good film is a good film. you simply have to make them, and not let marketing drive the process. That's Disney's problem today.
-Floyd Norman"
So, it's okay for Pixar to make Cars 2, but if you're Disney and change the name from Rapunzel to Tangled, you're a sellout to marketing?
This is a debate? Give me a break.
Disney does what it wants and will continue to do so whether you or I like it or not.
I really get annoyed at people picking on Floyd whenever he says something. They usually misinterpret him.
He usually attempts inflate his importance within the industry, with innocuous rhetorical blather. But in this case, he was referring to the barrels of cash Cars and it's sequel has raked in. This is also why Pixar will be making an Incredibles sequel soon, with or without Brad Bird.
Oh, hush. He's telling you that a story makes a good movie, but cash is still king. Let the producers worry about the money, and go make a good movie.
I don't listen to Pixar anymore when it comes to awards. They are going to win, whether deservingly or not.
Why would anyone say such an incredibly ignorant thing?

Floyd had the guts to post under his name, and gives his honest opinions, unlike me or the anonymous troll who wrote the above. I've seen scores of comments by Floyd, and I've never once seen him write or even imply that he has special importance in this industry. Of course, he's accomplished more than most of the anonymous trolls here combined, but he's not the one saying that.
