The entertainment press succinctly summarizes the overseas market:

Jupiter Ascending topped the foreign box office, grossing $32.5 million from 10,200 screens across 65 countries. Warner Bros., the studio behind the $179 million production, said it played particularly well in markets such as Russia, where it made $4.7 million. ...

“The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water” lapped up $16.2 million from 25 territories. ... The film’s global estimate through Sunday stands at $82.8 million, topping its $74 million production budget. ...

“Big Hero 6” crossed the $500 million mark at the global box office. That’s the fourth Disney title from 2014 to hit those lofty figures, joining “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Maleficent” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The film secured third place on the foreign charts, generating $12.7 million and bringing its global haul to $505.1 million. ...

Lastly, Penguins of Madagascar is over $345 million in world grosses. That's not bad for most features, but when you have a price tag of $132 million, you're running close to the wind, profit-wise. As a DreamWorker said to me recently: "The penguins has crossed over into television territory. The series is out around the world and that hasn't helped the theatrical version."

Oh, well. ...
