No 'Toons In Sight...

...but domestic box office rolls on anyway. For Friday, Heartbreak Kid, Game Plan, and The Kingdom finish 1-2-3.

If DreamWorks-Paramount was expecting a smasheroo Friday opening, they didn't get it. Kid took in $4.7 million. Quite okay, but certainly not stratospheric...

Meanwhile, the two major animated features still in release have chalked up healthy worldwide numbers.

The Simpsons Movie has rolled up a theatrical gross of $518,957,645.

Ratatouille has collected $418,860,412, with 40% of the world market remaining.

Sunday Update: Surprise. The Game Plan declines only 29.1% to take the top spot for a second week. $16,262,000 is its weekend total, with a $42.8 million cume.

The DreamWorks/ Farelly can't-miss comedy feature starring Ben Stiller has, apparently, missed. Weighed down by lacklustre reviews, it can't sustain its Friday momentum and collects just $14 million in its opening frame.

And once more, the Top Ten flick with the most staying is 3:10 to Yuma, dropping a mere 27.8% and raking in another $3 million. Yuma now stands at $48.5 million, with more track out ahead of it.
