Benjamin Bratt has stepped in to voice the villain Eduardo in Despicable Me 2. He replaces Al Pacino, who exited the project over creative differences with Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment. He’s getting to work right away on a film that Universal is counting on for a major summer release that begins July 3 ...
So let's see. Benjamin will drop out of the sky and record his lines in a couple of days. And the animators will bend to their computers with a will, since DM2 has a release date sixty days hence.
What I'd like to know is, what kind of "creative differences" did Al Pacino have eight weeks in front of the movie's release?

I thought the voices were suppose to be done first?
That is generally the case. Most or all of the animation is DONE, since the picture is less than sixty days from launch.
Why you see "Looping Time" up above there.
Wow. What a terrible choice. He's a terrible "actor." And his voice is not suited to animation.
Chris Meledandri knows best.
