Whoo boy, that Wild Things movie STUNK. It's boring, trite, and redundant--all masquerading as "subtle and important." BULLSHIT. It's just BAD. Families with kids had a hard time keeping them in their seats--they were bored and running up and down the ailes.
Best thing is it's only 90 minutes.
I liked it, but what's with the deal with the Mom's boss being named Mr. Lasseter?
Well, I dont think it was a kids movie.
I liked it, despite moments of dullness
Wild Things was a huge disastrous muppet-infested mess. More proof, if any were needed, that movie critics are certifiable morons.
How is a film based on one of the most iconic children's books of all time not a "kid's movie"?
It's not a "kids" movie.
It's not even a MOVIE.
It's terrible. Don't believe any hype. You will be bored silly.
Great. Now you've gone and ruined Wild Things for me.
I thought it was great. But you are right in the sense that it's not for kids. It's about growing up as one and how hard it is coming from a broken family. The dreams a boy makes as he struggles toward becoming an adult.
"Wild Things" is a movie for adults about what it was like to be a kid. Kids may like, but they're not the main audience for the flick.
It was a brilliant decision, and it helps the movie avoid being condescending and trite. Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers assume you're an intelligent person, and don't beat you over the head with messages or lame attempts to be hip and edgy (for god's sakes Chris Cooper is one the voices of the Wild Things, Chris Cooper!).
The film definitely won't work for everyone, but for a certain number people it's a lyrical tone poem about the end of childhood and learning to grow up.
