Let's see: We've got two pure animated features -- Zootopia and Ratchet & Clank -- in to top ranks, one 88% animated feature, and then two VFX-heavy offerings featuring caped crime fighters.

SO it's not really a big surprise that animation remains a growth industry.

Zootopia continues to do business, but unfortunately I can't say the same for Ratchet & Clank. A solid, well-intentioned miss that's bombing right now, and to the sound of critics shredding it to pieces and cold shoulders given from the general audience. That's too bad, because R&C is a decent animated compliment to the live-action summer blockbusters.

As Sam Goldwyn said in the great long-ago: "When people don't want to come and see your movie, you can't stop them."
