In full color ...

... from the MegaCollector, the classic H-B characters, for the cover of a coloring book; artist unknown.

Clockwise from upper left: Quick Draw McGraw, Baba Looey, Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, Mr. Jinks, Dixie and Pixie. Center: Huckleberry Hound.

(A simple rule of thumb: Pixie wears the bowtie, Dixie wears the vest.)

Below, from 1958, the very first Pixie and Dixie cartoon, "Cousin Tex".

Whoa. Love the image on top but the cartoon... ugh. Carlo Vinci is one of my favorite Flintstones animators, too. His style is barely recognizable here.

For many years, Iraj Paran was in charge of H-B licensing art. If he didn't actually do the art, he was the art director. As far as I know, he is still around. I saw him a couple of years ago and he looked pretty fit.

Kids would like them better if they were drawn to look unshaven, drunk and retarded.
