White Doggie Prediction

Earlier this week I had occasion to talk to a Disney person who confirmed that no, Bolt has not yet been launched in Japan. "The release is early in the summer ..."

So. Based on that ...

I'll go out on a broad, stout limb and predict that White Doggie will, when the grosses from Japan roll in, the worldwide grosses for Bolt will be comfortably north of $300 million ... and the $294,516,832 it's collected to date.

Now you're gettin' what I've been talking about, Steve! These animations make so much money, it's hard to keep track where it's all coming from. Now it's Japan! And that keeps the execs flush with money, all while screwing the little guy.

I saw Bolt for the first time two weeks ago, and the whole neighborhood heard me roaring. That hamster is a riot! Pixar never fails to keep me laughing, and now I'm going into seizures waiting for Up!

I've been thinking for some time now that the Animation Union needs a theme song! Whaddaya say, folks? What should it be? Here's my vote:

I hang out with some of the biggest copyright lawyers in the country, so getting all the legal fixin's for the theme song should be a snap!

Um, Greg, Bolt wasn't Pixar, but Disney's CG side. (although Lasseter DID have his hands rather invested in it). Maybe you knew that already, but it almost sounds like you are implying that Bolt was Pixar, which it wasn't. Still was a good movie though.

Greg B, cmon, you're ruining this site.

We can all tell you're being tongue in cheek, we get it, the jokes over, please move on.

What's with that guy? Is he trying to be funny?

And yeah, I think with the Japan release Bolt can pass over $300 million finally. But still, a weak start for John Lasseter at Disney. Coupling that with WALL-E and Disney/Pixar still run behind DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda/Madagascar 2.

to Greg:

Step aside, Seinfeld, watch out, Chris Rock! There's a new kid in town....

Besides, "animation" should not be pluralized. Just as "Music" can't be pluralized. There's no such thing as "musics", there's no such thing as "animations".

film studios continue to tell us how much money they're not making.

Naturally, that justifies staff cuts and layoffs. Meanwhile they'll never cancel that order on their new Mercedes. Never believe the figures the movie studios post. They're lying, as usual.

That's exactly what I thought you'd say, Floyd! You're exactly right!

Anyway, I can see that I'm not welcome at this site, so I'm going to concentrate (and re-double) my efforts at Animation Nation, where I am beloved like a salt lick at a deer farm. They appreciate my deep expertise about animation over there, and never fail to praise me endlessly when I provide essential information about the latest UFO sightings. I'm sorry to see that the folks here at the Union are so closed-minded.

If you ever needed the services of the greatest celebrity interior designers, like the ones I hang out with, now you can't have em! Good riddance to you all!

Yes! Greg B is gone! Just in time to make way for Fred D...the illustrious and brilliant animation scholar with more ties to other illustrious and scholarly brilliant fashion designers of the post-apocalyptic sectarian unified body! He's fluent in Swahili, lived on Saturn for 3 years, can make a mean martini, and still had time to fuck your mother last night! Man, its soo good to be rid of that poser Greg B, for the world is prepared for the deal-slingin, money makin machine Fred D!

Anyone interested in the hackery/lousy "artistry" of greg b should just visit his site. Truly amateurish.
