Thinking Big

Never a lack of ambition:

[Jeffrey] Katzenberg is considering forming a co-op to distribute third-party films in addition to DWA's lucrative animated titles.

And I have the perfect name for J.K.'s new distribution company: Name it after the street on which your studio sits.

It occurs to me that this is a bigger threat to Paramount than just the loss of a distribution fee for handling DWA films.

If Katzenburg needs films to fill his distribution pipeline he might easily lure in other top-tier independents who have been paying Paramount for distribution.

It might be worth it to Paramount to cave just to stop that competitor from forming.
