Animated News Corp.

Rupert and his minions don't just do prime time broadcast cartoons, there is also this:

[FX] announced Thursday that the animated spy comedy Archer has been picked up for a fourth season, as its current run continues to build in the ratings. ...

Say what you will about Fox, it believes in animation. And though Archer isn't done locally, or is covered by us, it has encouraged the cable network to try more animated series.

You can never have enough animated shows populating the cable and broadcast universe.

And yet we're still stuck in comedy territory anyway.

I wouldn't be caught dead working on that show. I'd rather have one really well animated series on the air then a dozen shows like archer that can barely be called animation. I mean how much more limited can shows get.

Archer is actually one of the funniest shows on the air and the animation helps it work. Not to mention all the animation is done in the US. Not something many shows can boast of.

I dunno, I'd think I'd rather the shows be funny, which thankfully Archer is. It's also the most critically acclaimed cartoon on TV right now.

Also, if you think Archer's animation is limited, stay far away from the creator's previous show, Frisky Dingo
