Animation Overseas

Animation in foreign lands continues to do well.

No. 3 [in overseas box office] was Despicable Me, Universal's family-oriented animation in 3D, which grossed $11.8 million from 4,300 locations in 45 territories, pushing its foreign cume to $256.2 million and $504.5 million worldwide. ...

Megamind, ... which opened No. 1 domestically, finished its second round on the foreign circuit with $8.2 million overall from 1,093 venues in just seven markets for an early overseas cume of $18.6 million. ...

Other animated features that are doing business includes "Legend of the Guardians", $74.5 million total and a $4.2 million weekend, "Arthur 3: The War of Two Worlds", with $22 million in France. And the ever-popular "Toy Story 3" has now made a grand total of $647.7 million in foreign money.
