Meanwhile, In Foreign Lands ...

... animation gallops along on the farther sides of the Atlantic and Pacific.

Disney Animation's "Tangled" has grossed $146.5 million overseas thanks to another $14.8 million in its sixth weekend at 3,802 venues ... DreamWorks Animation's "Megamind in 3D" pushed its international gross total to $134.5 million after an $11 million weekend at 4,938 [sites] ... "Shrek Forever After in 3D" [totals] $506 million ...

The fourth Shrek has now accumulated $744.3 million in world wide grosses, while Megamind is at $279 million. (It appears that Tangled will outperform MM by roughly the same ratio that it has domestically. The long-hared girl has now racked up $314.5 million.)

Tangled will probably top out domestically at around 190 million or so. A pretty darn good take, given Disney's track record of the last 15 years.

No one can honestly doubt Disney's ability to make a great CG feature now. Whether or not "Reboot Ralph" will be similarly great will be the true test of consistency.

I hope it was worth shelving other projects for. Though, King of the Elves is supposed to be still in production.

KOTE was taken out of production and put back into "development." Theres a good chance it will go back into production soon.

Only $235 million more for Tangled to break even and start scratching out a profit.

And cue The Snow Queen fans, shlupping another batch of "facts" about that project and why it should be brought back.

It will probably make a profit in worldwide gross. It still hasn't open in the UK and Japan, yet. That plus merchandise, DVD/BluRay sales, and the technology for this movie being available for future projects. I think its pretty safe to say it will turn some sort of profit.

Please tell me you're joking. And IMDb is like the Wikipedia of movies, anyone can edit it. The project is shelved and until they can get the "kinks" out of the story don't ever mention it again.

Back on topic, yes Tangled surpassed Megamind. Finally, DW fans can stop attacking it as if it were nothing.

The correct nickname for DW fanboys is "DreamWankers" XDDD
