Is the cash bar proceeds going towards the pension?

We're not collecting money for charities or the Motion Picture Indusry Pension and Health Plan tonight. We have opted for a do which is less labor intensive.

As usual.

Sounds like a great party. Thanks to the executive board and staff for putting it together. See you all tonight!

Can I just point out that the cash bar option was put to a vote at a general membership meeting, and not a board meeting? People should have made it known that they wanted free drinks by showing up to the meeting, saying their piece and voting for it. One member showed up and made his case for no free drinks because he thought it was irresponsible in this economy. And the majority of the TAG members there agreed.

It's really easy to make a change if you get involved. But it's even easier to gripe anonymously so... Here we are.

Just back from the party. Thought it was fantastic! Great catching up with old friends. Didn't bother me in the least that it was a cash bar. Thank you for the opportunity to get together. After all, isn't that what it is all about?

Just back from the festivities. The food was better than other venues, the galleries of the Autrey were great, and everyone seemed to have a good time.

We'll try and get some pictures up soon, but truth to tell I didn't take many. Hopefully others did.

I know that Enrique May, who's become our de facto official photographer, was there last night, so I'm sure he'll be dropping off a library of shots to me before very long.

I can't tell you how happy and proud I am that everything came off so well last night. IMHO the Autry is everything we've ever wanted in a party venue. And everyone I talked to thought that having the party after New Year's was a good idea (although the decision when and where to have the next party hasn't been made yet).

Thanks to everyone who showed up to celebrate George Burns and Gracie Allen's birthday with us!
