Bye Bye Anonymous

New Rule.

As of now, you want to post a comment, you register. ...

You want to be anonymous, you're now out of luck.

Probably should have done this awhile ago, but better late than never. Have a fabulous day.

Does this mean we can yell at one another with "fake" names? :) Not sure how that will work, but it's an interesting, dare I say bold move:) Bob

This has been cumulative with us.

I don't really have a big problem with anonymous people insulting and ragging on me. This is because ...

Anonymous = I. Don't. Care.

But it was the ragging on others that finally got to us. When you're an unknown person yelling insults from behind a wall, it's easy to be a large douche nozzle.

So now we'll see if the douchiness recedes a little. If we can't keep discussions civil and on-point with this new approach, then we'll try another approach.

Simple.

Sounds great...and I agree. Hope it makes the discussion more civil and productive. There are a lot of small things we disagree on...but we're all on the same page where it matters.

I hope this leads to more civil and productive discussions and no more pot shots. In the very least we will be able to direct comments to some sort of handle, rather than a ton of anonymous.

We'll probably get a good sense in the next few days. I'm sure Steve will put up one of his famous political posts. That will be the real litmus test.

Famous only in my mind.

Without anonymity people are less likely to speak their minds. That's too bad because his was the only animation forum left unedited. A lot of what was posted was ugly and stupid and ignorant, but those guys were idiots and it's easy to spot an idiot and ignore them. I'll miss the posts from abused employees whistle blowing on their employers and te tales of what was really going on behind the scenes. Even if it was BS you still got a sense of how people were feeling.

This system is less than perfect. I'm sure the motivated will continue to find ways to post under a pseudonym.

This is great. You can maintain your anonymity from your company by using not your main email, but you can't spam jack ass comments without being identified as that guy(or girl) who's always trolling.

(it's great having a dump email you can hand out when people want a contact so they can send you chain letters and stuff, no one has to know that you are Bubbles28 or whatever

A shame (in some ways) that we had to do this, but the snarkiness was getting thick.
