Everything Old? New Again.

Cartoon Network plucks a series from the vault.

... Cartoon Network is giving a fresh take on Ben 10, launching a new animated series about the alien-powered kid hero. Cartoon Network Studios is producing for a fall 2016 premiere on the network’s international channels, followed by a North American premiere the following year. ...

The original Ben 10 series premiered on Cartoon Network in January 2006, to high ratings and an immediate admiration for the title character. The successful series spawned three additional, original, animated series (Ben 10 Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Ben 10: Omniverse), one animated movie (Ben 10: Secret Of The Omnitrix), and two live-action movies (Ben 10: Race Against Time, Ben 10: Alien Swarm). ...

Warner Animation, another animation division of Time-Warner, continues to produce the Hanna-Barbera franchise about the Great Dane that sniffs out fraudulent ghosts, so why not another round of Bens? And Disney is rebooting DuckTales, so we know that re-imagining older series is all the rage.

But then, reworking a "classic", be it for television or theaters, has never gone out of style.
