The Junior Times

Last week I posted a Peg Board from 1965 that contained a reprint of a 2-page spread from a much older LA Times insert. This insert, from "The Junior Times," was published in the late 20s and early 30s, and featured comics and stories by young artists and writers, a fair number of whom went on to be prominent in our industry. Filboid Studge has done some research and reprints some wonderful stuff from "The Junior Times:" a fantastic Bob Clampett comic ("The Innocent Pussy") from May 16, 1926, and a Clampett story ("Spud's Diary") from April 15, 1928... Clampett was 12 and 14 at the time of those publications. At the bottom of the post Filboid also links to some other material others have posted from "The Junior Times," by future animators Ed Benedict and Fred Moore, so check those out, too.
