Really, we are going to talk Mission Impossible 4 instead of the premieres of Beavis and Butthead or Good Vibes on Thursday night, which i believe were both shows done by union employees.

He has to do MI4 in order to get live-action street cred so that the studio suits will greenlight his big-budget epic 1906.
Wish it was 1906 instead of cruise but oh well.
As the Shaw joke goes: "we've already established that you're a prostitute now we're just quibbling about price"
Brad Bird is not in bad company with other directors of this franchise. Also Brian dePalma, Jonh Woo and J.J. Abrans haven't done their best work with it so Brad have nothing to fear about how it would be received.
1906 will never get made. It has no franchise potential, and costs too much to be a stand alone film.
And he won't be doing animation again anytime soon.
...unless Mission Impossible bombs. Then he'll be back at animation faster then that kid in the Incredibles.
Bird wants to be a BIG fish and if he can't be a big fish in live-action he'll op to be a big fish in animation instead
