You could never accomplish Maximus the horse via motion capture.
Animators are going to have jobs for a long, long time.
Maximus the horse? Just wait until Andy Serkis gets into that horse suit.
*grin*
The great animators at WETA should take out an ads in all the trades decrying what a liar Serkis is and those that support him. If they can't afford that (which is very likely) then they need to find a reporter that would love a inside Hollywood fight.
Anyone who has spoken to any of them know how little of his performance was used other than as reference.
This seems like a cause the union should also step into since it impacts the reputations of many of its members now and in the future.
the animators who have worked at weta and those wo are currently working there should be more active and louder. I recall that open letter a few months ago, but I agree they need to make more noise. Serkis is taking all the credit...aaaah, hollywood!
