I noticed the Art Directors Guild has a panel at the convention. How come the Animation Guild does not participate as well?
I've wrestled with the idea of exhibiting at Comic-Con for the Guild. I used to love to attend this con when it was truly about comics and animation. Today, its become more a hollywood showcase than animation-centric event. While a good number of our contracted studios exhibit there, I'm hesitant to ask the membership to pay the $2,500 for a booth as well as my room and board to host a table there. The Guild happily participates in the CTN Animation Expo which we feel is more aligned with our jurisdiction and membership.
